He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. Dr. Hughes is also one of the reviewers of the" Journal of Oral Implantology" and on the editorial advisory board of the "Journal of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry". Dr. Hughes gives back to dentistry by teaching (lecturing and hands on surgical instruction) in university based post-doctorate dental programs in the USA and abroad.
